Using PLR Content

Grow Your List Using PLR Content

When it comes to making money online, you’ll hear time and time again that building an email list is one of your top priorities. This means you’ll be building a list of perspective customers along with their names and email addresses (bare minimum) who are most likely interested in what you have to offer.

The biggest problem in building a list is getting people interested in signing up. In the past it may have been easy to get people to hand over their active email address with the promise of receiving regular updates, but not anymore. In today’s world, you’ll need to give them a meaningful incentive to subscribe, especially since many of them are already subscribed to other email lists.

Example incentives that motivate people to sign-up:

  • Free reports on specific topics.
  • Exclusive member discounts to products, courses, or services.
  • Free PLR products, eBooks, or Kindle books.
  • A free eCourse series that teaches something of value to your audience.

Benefits of using follow-up Emails:

Typically, most marketers choose to give something away in the first contact email as an immediate gift (usually a short report or eBook). Then often auto-schedule a series of email messages on a regular interval designed to build up a relationship with their new subscriber.

In the case of an offered eCourse, this would mean sending out a new “lesson” every other day. The first several lessons will be pure content: teaching new skills, giving out free resources, and so on. Once enough of these lessons have been sent to build up a connection, the remaining lessons will typically include affiliate links or product/service promotions every few emails.

Your eCourse offer could be something like, “How to setup a WordPress Website with blog in 7 days” or “How to train your dog to obey your voice commands”. Since it is free information and offers something of genuine value will generate interest and sign-ups.

At the same time, you’ll want your eCourse to be pre-loaded and scheduled in advance to start sending those emails whether you get a new subscriber today or a year from now. It is “hands-off” selling that allows you to take time to focus on creating new material.

Where PLR fits in:

A number of marketers and website owners decide against using PLR for their blog content because it’s considered not to be “unique” in the algorithms of search engines rankings. However, with an email list of subscribers, you don’t have this problem. Good PLR content is great to send out to your email list, which the search engines have nothing to do with.

That is why it is perfectly acceptable to use your autoresponder to send PLR content for the eCourse, as long as you’re sure it provides your readers that value. And PLR content can help you build trust with your readers. I would recommend doing some edits to it and include your own links to personalize it a bit. Using PLR helps you save time and you can start building your list today!
